About

MEET THE TRAINER

Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Roxayn and I've been a personal trainer for 30 years. I've worked with men and women of all ages and fitness levels but now I specialize in working with clients in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. My oldest client right now is thriving at 85 and still downhill skiing, riding a motorcycle, and climbing mountains!

 

For many people, once they reach their 50s, they experience signs of aging picking up speed... declining health, sore joints/injuries, declining balance and posture, muscle loss and fat gain, decreasing energy, and others. Most people believe these are normal and inevitable physical and mental changes that come with getting older.

 

What I can tell you based on the science and many real-life examples of people I work with every day is that much of what we believe to be the normal and inevitable aging process, is not normal at all but rather is the result of our lifestyles. With a few simple changes and a proven program, my clients take 5-10 years off of their 'biological age' and are soon feeling better, looking better, and functioning better than they thought would be possible.

After 50, making some simple changes to nutrition and lifestyle, and especially a good strength training program, are an absolute game changer  that will affect your quality of life in your 2nd half. The goal isn't just to add years to your life, it's to have a higher quality of life for the rest of your life.

 

So whether you are currently active but just not getting the results you were hoping for, or if you don't do any regular exercise and have never done any strength training, I believe that it's never too late to start! But it can be very helpful to team up with an experienced personal trainer who understands the extra challenges that we face as we age. Things like decreasing hormone levels, longer recovery times, joint issues, slower metabolisms, and health challenges are real. Goals tend to change over time as well. You really do have to train 'smarter' and not 'harder' to get your best results while avoiding injuries. Once you're over 50, some simple changes to the way you eat also make a big difference.

Transformations Fitness & Nutrition is now located in Abbotsford & Chilliwack, B.C.  I offer in-home personal training (at clients' home gyms or I bring fitness equipment to you), and also work with clients at various local fitness facilities and outdoors.
